Thursday, 6 June 2024 - 54 minutes
Born in Sussex, and pursuing his passion for music performing in bands, Efrem welcomed his first child aged 18. Growing up quickly, Efrem began a career in construction and quickly climbed the ladder whilst raising his children. Efrem's son James wanted to join the Parachute Regiment, but moved into the Intelligence Corps, where he would deploy on 2 tours of Afghanistan. On his second tour of Afghanistan, and aged just 22, James was killed in a blue-on-blue incident during a handover operation. Efrem and his family have gone on to fight legal battles and inquests with the British Army and the MOD. Efrem appeared on season 2 of Channel 4's 'SAS Who Dares Wins' programme, where he would go on to deliver a moving mirror room interview and share James' story with millions of viewers. Efrem is the founder of the StrongMen charity, which was created to bring men who have experienced loss & bereavement. StrongMen organises adventurous activities and weekend camps across the country, and has helped hundreds of men since it's inception.
